Construction Begins

The rear brick wall was dismantled today. All of the bricks were separated into two piles: one pile of unbroken bricks (to be cleaned and reused) and another pile of broken bricks (to be recycled). The mason made a vertical saw cut all the way up the wall in order to keep a portion of the existing wall in place. This remaining portion will help stabilize the brick masonry wall that runs along the side of the house.
